Selected 102 Broadcast Video Contents... 50 Billion Won Support
The Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 27th that it has selected 102 projects for this year's broadcasting video content production support and will provide 50 billion KRW in funding.
The sector with the largest support scale is online video service (OTT) specialized content. Thirty-five projects will receive 33.7 billion KRW. Beneficiary works include director Lee Eung-bok's "Dear X," as well as "Competitive Detective Agency," "Cheongdam International High School Season 2," and "Antarctic Chef: Raid the Food Storage," among others.
The 15 billion KRW scale broadcasting video content production support is divided into broadcasting, new media, and format development. Six broadcast dramas will be supported with 8.7 billion KRW, and seven documentaries with 1.26 billion KRW. New media such as web dramas, web entertainment, and cultural programs will receive 5.25 billion KRW in support.
The small and medium-sized production companies' global leap support targets four projects: "The Fiery Priest Season 2," "Soju Rhapsody," "Day of Abduction," and "Noble Restaurant." All of these will receive assistance for global intellectual property (IP) reproduction and expansion.
Last year, the agency achieved various results through this project. TVING's "It’s Okay to Not Be Okay" ranked within the top 10 on Amazon Prime Video viewing charts in seventy-eight countries, reaching second place worldwide, and "Flower That Blooms at Night" achieved the highest ratings ever for an MBC Friday-Saturday drama. tvN's "Strong Woman Kang Nam-soon" also performed well, leading Netflix viewing rankings in eight countries.
Additionally, many popular works such as MBC's "Chief Inspector 1958," Coupang Play's "Boyhood," and tvN's "Marry My Husband" received production support from the Korea Creative Content Agency.
