On the 27th, JoeunApp took the stage third at the 'Checkpoint of Next Elevation' event hosted by startup accelerator Next Elevation at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. CEO Jo Seung-yeon operates 'Eodil,' a logistics job platform based on public transportation.

CEO Jo explained, "South Korea will enter a super-aged society with over 10 million people aged 65 and older next year, but there are almost no jobs for seniors. To solve this problem, we started Eodil, which provides senior jobs through the logistics service industry." Launched in 2021, Eodil acts as an intermediary connecting customers with seniors aged 60 and above who can deliver parcels weighing less than 5 kg. It offers a contactless solution for the entire process from order reception to delivery.

JoeunApp found the solution to senior employment and the logistics service industry in public transportation. CEO Jo said, "Public transportation, based on rationality, stability, and accuracy, can be an ideal solution for a logistics ecosystem. Seniors can effectively carry out deliveries through the Dongdaemun and Chungmuro hubs created by public transportation and JoeunApp." These hubs serve as logistics centers and spaces where seniors can communicate and rest.

CEO Jo stated, "By utilizing the nature of logistics that gathers and disperses, we implemented delivery logic to increase delivery workers' profitability and provide reasonable same-day delivery. We developed technology that finds delivery solutions within 0.01 seconds and were able to obtain a patent." Based on this, JoeunApp has handled 33,000 parcels and recorded a transportation distance of 237,600 km, equivalent to circling the Earth 5.9 times.

CEO Jo emphasized, "Seniors are the perfect candidates and excellent partners for this role. Therefore, it must be a job that seniors want to do." Based on this belief, JoeunApp is leading efforts to improve seniors' treatment and working conditions. While seniors typically paid about a 40% commission for existing subway parcel deliveries, JoeunApp lowered the commission to 20% through its own platform. They also provide T-shirts and ID badges to foster a sense of belonging and community. Positive reviews from senior partners continue based on this.

JoeunApp's average daily delivery volume per person is five orders, with senior partners earning 858,000 KRW per month. The average delivery fee is 7,800 KRW, and the average monthly working days are about 22. CEO Jo explained, "Although 850,000 KRW may not seem like much, fewer than two out of ten seniors working for a living earn more than that." JoeunApp currently works with 560 senior partners.

JoeunApp expects to expand its service nationwide by 2029, enabling delivery by 10,000 seniors. CEO Jo said, "Our goal is to expand services nationwide by 2029 and have the capacity to handle over 20,000 deliveries per day. We will create a healthy logistics ecosystem that boosts jobs for both seniors and youth."
