"Successful in Making Delicious Effervescent Tablets"
Plans to Expand to Health Functional Foods
“I chose effervescent tablets because I wondered, ‘Does a beverage have to be in liquid form?’”

Kim Yesung, CEO of Net (NET), stated at the demo day hosted by startup accelerator Next Elevation at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 27th, “There are no effervescent tablet players in Korea, but Net aims to quickly become the leading player.”
Net is a customized effervescent tablet development company with proprietary formulation technology. CEO Kim emphasized, “Making delicious effervescent tablets is surprisingly difficult. The effervescent agents used have a unique fishy and bitter taste, and the acids have a sour taste. Net succeeded in developing effervescent tablets that dissolve quickly in water, have a long shelf life, can be stored at room temperature, and taste good after two years of research and development.”
The flagship product is ‘Pocketonic.’ When the coin-sized effervescent tablet Pocketonic meets water, it transforms into tonic water. It can also be added to soju, beer, whiskey, and other drinks.
CEO Kim listed several advantages Pocketonic has compared to tonic water. He explained, “One small bottle of Pocketonic is equivalent to seven bottles of tonic water. If you carry three bottles of Pocketonic in your pocket, it’s like having a box of tonic water in your pocket. It is a compact, lightweight, and convenient product,” adding, “It is environmentally friendly enough to reduce plastic waste by more than 3,000 tons annually.”
He continued, “It is also characterized by being sugar-free and low-calorie,” adding, “It has even won first place in a blind taste test for tonic water.”
Net plans to develop various products based on technology that enhances the quality characteristics of effervescent tablets. They plan to develop a sugar-free product to replace syrups used in cafes. Later, they aim to expand their lineup to include products for making cocktails and health functional foods.
They are also preparing to enter overseas markets, particularly targeting the U.S. and Southeast Asia. CEO Kim said, “I visited the U.S. and Vietnam this year, completed the first meeting with a Korean grocery store in San Francisco, and plan to participate in a show held in Las Vegas. Additionally, we plan to quickly enter the market through collaboration with a company that delivers alcoholic beverages in the U.S.”
