300 Million KRW Reward for Gold Medal Set
Korean national golf team players for both men and women have been confirmed.
The Korea Golf Association announced on the 27th, "We have finalized the list of athletes to be dispatched to the 2024 Paris Olympics and submitted it to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee," adding, "Olympic participation qualifications were determined based on the Olympic golf rankings derived from the men's and women's world rankings by the International Golf Federation (IGF)." The association has set prize money for this tournament at 300 million KRW for gold medals, 150 million KRW for silver medals, and 100 million KRW for bronze medals.
The national golf representatives for the Paris Olympics consist of Kim Joo-hyung and An Byeong-hun for the men's division, and Ko Jin-young, Yang Hee-young, and Kim Hyo-joo for the women's division. The Paris Olympics will open on July 26. The golf competition will be held at Le Golf National Olympic Course in France, with the men's event taking place over four days starting August 1, and the women's event held over four days starting a week later on August 7. Only a four-round individual competition will be conducted. In the event of a tie, a separate playoff will be held to determine the medal winners. Kang Hyung-mo, president of the Korea Golf Association, promised, "We will spare no effort in providing meticulous support for accommodations, transportation, and food and beverages to ensure the team achieves good results."
