KakaoBank Dollar Box Surpasses 100,000 Subscribers Just 2 Days After Launch

KakaoBank's Dollar Box, which features dollar gift functions and exemption from currency exchange fees, surpassed 100,000 subscribers just two days after its launch.

As of 1 PM on the 27th, the number of Dollar Box subscribers exceeded 100,000. This record was achieved within 50 hours of launch, averaging one new subscriber every 1.8 seconds.

KakaoBank cited the 'dollar gift' function as a key factor in Dollar Box's popularity. This feature allows users to gift dollars to any KakaoTalk friend without the need to enter account numbers or phone numbers. By selecting message cards such as the 'Lucky 2 Dollar Card' and entering the amount and message, users can easily send dollar gifts via KakaoTalk.

Currency exchange and domestic ATM withdrawal fees are also completely free. Users can link their Dollar Box with a deposit and withdrawal account to deposit and withdraw dollars without any fees. It is also possible to withdraw cash without fees using Shinhan Bank foreign currency ATMs.

The service can be freely used overseas by utilizing the Travel Wallet. Users can recharge by selecting the currency type and amount on the 'Recharge Travel Wallet' page within Dollar Box, and use the 'Travel Pay Card' for payments and ATM withdrawals without fees in over 70 countries worldwide.
