Presented at the Busan Mobility Show Press Day on the 27th
Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the Casper Electric, an entry-level electric vehicle that will lead the era of electric car popularization, for the first time in the world.
On the 27th, Hyundai held a press conference at the Busan Mobility Show held at BEXCO in Busan and introduced the Casper Electric. The Casper Electric features a larger body compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles and incorporates electric vehicle design elements.
The Casper Electric is 230mm longer and 15mm wider than the existing Casper. The front turn signal lamps feature pixel graphics, showcasing an iconic design unique to electric vehicles.
The wheelbase has been extended by 180mm compared to the previous model, improving high-speed driving stability and providing more spacious legroom in the second row. The trunk length has increased by 100mm, enhancing space efficiency with a cargo capacity increased by 47ℓ from the previous 233ℓ.
Hyundai equipped the Casper Electric with a 49kWh NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) battery, achieving a driving range of 315km on a single charge. Additionally, it has been developed to charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with indoor and outdoor V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, allowing free supply of 220V power both inside and outside the car, enhancing the usability of the electric vehicle.
Hyundai plans to start pre-orders for the long-range model of the Casper Electric in July and will sequentially introduce the base and cross models later.
Jung Yoo-seok, Head of Hyundai Motor’s Domestic Business Division, said, "We are pleased to introduce the Casper Electric to visitors at the Hyundai Motor booth for the first time in the world," adding, "We ask for your great interest and love for the Casper Electric, which will lead the popularization of electric vehicles."
