Kyungnam University and Changwon City Policy Research Institute Sign Agreement to Promote Glocal University Initiative

Promise of Building an Organic Support System and Assistance for Glocal Universities

Kyungnam University, which is accelerating its efforts to be officially designated as a Glocal University based on cooperation with local companies, has signed a business agreement with the Changwon Municipal Policy Research Institute for the promotion of the Glocal University 30 and RISE projects in the International Seminar Room.


The 'Changwon Municipal Policy Research Institute,' a think tank driving innovation and development in Changwon Special City, and 'Kyungnam University,' which is leading bold innovation for regional revitalization through the digital transformation of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, have joined forces for the Glocal University 30 and RISE projects to foster regional co-growth.

On the 26th, the two institutions pledged to establish an organic support system and provide assistance for the university's advancement as a Glocal University through sharing and cooperation, advancement of regional industry research, nurturing digital talent, and holding industry-academia cooperation seminars and workshops.


Hong Junghyo, Vice President for External Affairs, said, "It is meaningful to sign an agreement for the Glocal University 30 and RISE projects, which aim for regional co-growth, with the Changwon Municipal Policy Research Institute, which has driven innovation and development in Changwon Special City through the CHARI 2.0 vision, aiming to establish 'Northeast Asia's Central, Rapidly Advancing Changwon Special City.' I hope Kyungnam University, which is leading the digital transformation of the national industrial complex for Changwon's revitalization, will share various wisdom and visions to leap forward as a Glocal University."


Kim Youngpyo, Director of the Changwon Municipal Policy Research Institute, said, "Cooperation is fundamental to all research," and added, "We will support Kyungnam University's bold innovation and promising future as a Glocal University by utilizing the diverse human and material infrastructure possessed by the institute."
