Reminder of the Three Key Rules for Preventing Heat-Related Illnesses for Field Workers
On the 27th, Ulsan City will conduct a 'Heat Illness Prevention Education for Heat Waves' at the auditorium of the Ulsan Museum.
This training will be held for about 150 outdoor workers among Ulsan City employees who are vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.
Kang Sunhye, a health manager from Ulsan City, will serve as the instructor and will cover topics such as: ▲Types and main symptoms of heat-related illnesses ▲Work standards according to weather conditions ▲First aid methods and summer health management.
A city official stated, "As the intensity of heat waves increases every year due to climate change, preventive activities for the safety and health of outdoor workers are more important than ever," and added, "We will thoroughly prevent heat-related illnesses by strictly adhering to work standards and prevention guidelines according to weather conditions to ensure that serious industrial accidents do not occur."
To prevent heat-related illnesses, Ulsan City will conduct on-site inspections for heat illness prevention in early July, taking preemptive measures against vulnerable factors during the hot season. In particular, for high-risk groups sensitive to heat-related illnesses, the city plans to thoroughly manage workers' health by providing consultations with occupational health physicians and health managers.
