The Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) and Silla University (President Heo Namsik) alliance, currently preparing for the Ministry of Education’s ‘Glocal University 30’ project, will hold a signing ceremony for the ICT-based Future Mobility School Industry-Academia-Research Alliance in collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City at BEXCO on the 28th to ensure the successful implementation of the ‘Glocal University 30’ project.
This signing ceremony will be attended by Busan Mayor Park Hyungjoon, as well as regional automotive industry companies such as Renault Korea, Sungwoo Hitech, Geumyang, and KorensEM. Telecommunications and ICT companies including KT, Korea Quantum Computing, and Megazone Cloud, along with leading ICT-based future mobility industry organizations such as Busan Technopark, Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, will also participate in forming the Alliance.
Through this agreement, the Dongmyung University and Silla University alliance, together with Busan Metropolitan City, will establish a foundation for the successful operation of the specialized Future Mobility School by creating a collaborative ecosystem among companies, research institutes, and universities.
The local community, which hopes to foster high value-added industries through the improvement of the regional industrial structure, sees this agreement as a stepping stone for the development of Busan’s industries by nurturing talent tailored to the industrial demands of the ICT-based future mobility sector.
In particular, the signing ceremony will coincide with the opening of the ‘2024 Busan Mobility Show.’ Renault Korea, one of the participating alliance companies, will unveil for the first time at this exhibition its ‘Hybrid D SUV’ model, the first vehicle from the next-generation eco-friendly new car development project ‘Aurora.’
Jeon Ho-hwan, President of Dongmyung University, stated, “This signing ceremony is expected to form a true alliance for industrial development and talent cultivation, with the participation of ICT technology companies, eco-friendly future automobile parts manufacturers, finished vehicle companies, and related research and support organizations, all working together to foster the regional future mobility industry.” He added, “The Dongmyung University and Silla University alliance will serve as a solid foundation for Busan’s economic development through the operation of the Future Mobility School.”
In the ‘Glocal University 30’ project, the Dongmyung University and Silla University alliance plans to create their campuses as open innovation towns to foster regional industries and nurture locally-rooted talent based on the demands of future industries. They will promote university innovation by selecting future mobility and future well-life as specialized fields.
