Gyeongbuk Technopark achieved export agreements worth $200,000 and business consultations amounting to $1,000,000 through the "Guatemala International Import Consultation" hosted by the Guatemala Chamber of Commerce on the 20th and 21st.
On the 20th and 21st, Gyeongbuk Technopark achieved export agreements worth $200,000 and consultation results worth $1,000,000 through the "Guatemala International Import Consultation" hosted by the Guatemala Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
As part of the "Global Export Support for Gyeongbuk Cosmetics Companies" project, Gyeongbuk TP supported four small and medium-sized enterprises in the beauty and healthcare sector at the international consultation event.
The participating companies conducted a total of 52 export consultations worth approximately $1,000,000, focusing on differentiated regional products such as perfume shower heads, functional cosmetics for stretch marks, regenerative creams, and perfume diffusers.
According to KOTRA Guatemala Trade Center, which supported this event, among the three Central American countries (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras), Guatemala has the largest consumer goods market, and cosmetics consumption is increasing every year. In 2023, the import growth rate for cosmetics (HS Code 3304) reached a remarkable 22.4% compared to the previous year.
In particular, the perfume shower head (Mariette), developed by combining perfume and a shower head, attracted significant attention by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) worth $200,000 with a local buyer during the consultation event.
Ha Inseong, President of Gyeongbuk Technopark, said, "Through participation in this Guatemala international consultation, we hope to create a positive ripple effect by expanding the presence of Gyeongbuk K-beauty products in emerging markets and further extending into North and Central American markets."
