The World's Strongest F-22 Raptor... Joint Exercises on the Korean Peninsula [Yang Nak-gyu's Defence Photo]

The U.S. F-22 Raptor, regarded as the world's most powerful fighter jet, conducted a joint air training exercise called 'Ssangmae Training (Buddy Squadron)' with the Republic of Korea Air Force. This exercise involved over 30 fourth- and fifth-generation fighter jets, including the ROKAF F-35A and KF-16, and the U.S. Air Force F-22 and F-16. It was the first time in 42 days since May 16 that the F-22 trained alongside ROKAF fighter jets.

On this day, the combined ROK-U.S. Air Force fighter jets, including the U.S. F-22, practiced Air Interdiction (AI) operations over the eastern region. Air Interdiction is a mission aimed at delaying or neutralizing enemy military forces before they can inflict damage on friendly forces. The ROKAF KF-16 and U.S. Air Force F-16 acted as simulated enemy aircraft, creating a realistic mission environment to enhance training effectiveness.

The U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor is the first fifth-generation stealth fighter jet. It has an operational range of 2,177 km and can carry two 1,000-pound (453.6 kg) bombs. The F-22's total radar cross-section is only 0.0001 square meters, smaller than the size of an insect. Its maximum speed exceeds Mach 2.5 (2.5 times the speed of sound), making it extremely fast.
