In particular, it is time to share information and know-how known by each pruning team and upgrade the pruning technology of all pear farmers in the Naju area.

Accordingly, the city recently selected 20 trainees through the ‘2024 Premium Naju Pear Pruning Team Trainee Recruitment Announcement.’

The pruning training will be conducted a total of seven times until December through collaboration between the Naju Agricultural Technology Center and the Naju Pear Horticultural Agricultural Cooperative.

The training will be conducted by the head of the Fruit Technology Team at the Naju Agricultural Technology Center (Jeong Seok-gon), the head of the Naju Pear Horticultural Agricultural Cooperative (Yoo Jae-moon), Dr. Seo Ho-jin from the Pear Research Center, the head of the Geumcheon Sanpo Agricultural Counseling Office at the Naju Agricultural Technology Center (Choi Jin-ho), the president of the Uri Pear Research Association (Kwon Sang-jun), and pear farmers from Geumcheon (Kim Jun).

The city plans to conduct practice-oriented training for more accurate budding and pruning technology dissemination, and especially plans to expand technology dissemination through field trips to advanced sites by variety.

The first training session for fostering the Uri variety Naju pear pruning team will be held on the 27th at the Agricultural Hall of the Naju Agricultural Technology Center.

Orientation and education on the characteristics and cultivation precautions of domestic varieties (Shinhwa, Changjo, Super Gold, Hwasan, Wonhwang) and basic budding and pruning techniques are expected to be conducted.

A city official said, “This training focuses on strengthening communication with farmers, solving farmers’ difficulties, and improving farmers’ income,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to enhance the competitiveness of pear farmers through the dissemination of new pruning technologies.”
