Election of the 9th Late-Term Council Leadership of Gangjin-gun Council

Assemblyman Seo Soon-sun Elected as Speaker for the Second Half, Assemblyman Jeong Jung-seop as Deputy Speaker

The Gangjin County Council in Jeollanam-do held the election for the 9th Gangjin County Council's second half term chairman, vice chairman, and standing committee chairs during the 2nd plenary session of the 1st regular meeting of the 301st session on the 25th.

According to the county council on the 26th, the chairman and vice chairman elections, conducted in the form of candidate registration, had single candidates and proceeded with voting, while the elections for each standing committee chair were conducted by a papal-style election method where the candidate with the majority of votes without registration was elected.

Seo Sun-sun was unanimously elected as the chairman and Jeong Jung-seop as the vice chairman of the 9th Gangjin County Council's second half.

As a result, for the second half term, △ Council Chairman Seo Sun-seon and △ Vice Chairman Jeong Jung-seop were unanimously elected, and the council standing committee chairs were elected as follows: △ Council Steering Committee Chair Yoo Kyung-sook, △ Administrative Welfare Committee Chair Wi Seong-sik, and △ Agricultural Economy Committee Chair Kim Chang-ju.

In his acceptance speech, Councilman Seo Sun-seon stated, “I will take the lead in establishing a council image that balances expertise, experience, communication, and a research-oriented attitude.”

He added, “Through democratic processes of dialogue, discussion, and compromise, I promise to carry out council activities without losing my original intention so that the council can be recognized as trustworthy by the people of Gangjin.”

Meanwhile, the second half term of the Gangjin County Council is scheduled to officially begin its council activities from the 5th of next month, when the first half term chairman’s term ends.
