New Admission System Introduced for Specialized High Schools
Helping Students Transition Smoothly into Society
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced the criteria for new recruitment of educational administrative staff for the second half of 2024 on the 26th.
The office provided information on the qualification requirements and examination methods for 19 different job categories and announced changes to the examination system starting from the second half of the year.
A new recruitment category has been established for graduates (or expected graduates) of specialized high schools for the positions of 'Educational Assistant' and 'Cook.' Up to 10% of the recruitment quota for Educational Assistants and up to 5% for Cooks will be filled by those who have graduated from, or are expected to graduate from, specialized high schools located in Busan within the past year. The recruitment criteria are the same as for the general selection process.

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will announce the number of positions and the examination schedule for the second half of the year in September via its website and the Recruitment Management System. The first aptitude assessment will be held in November, followed by the second interview examination in December, with new staff assigned as of March 1, 2025. However, recruitment for Neulbom School Administrative Assistants will take place in July and August.
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "We expect these revised recruitment criteria to support the stable transition of specialized high school students into society," adding, "We hope that many talented and well-rounded individuals will apply."
