Jeonbuk Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation (Chairman Shim Deok-seop) announced on the 26th that it is recruiting participants for the ‘Gochang Biosphere Storyteller Training Course’ until the 3rd of next month.
This training course is designed to cultivate ‘Gochang Biosphere Storytellers’ who will guide tourists easily and enjoyably in Gochang, where the entire administrative district is designated as a biosphere reserve.

The training will be conducted over a total of 5 days between July 10 and August 6, covering 8 sessions including ▲the meaning and role of storytellers ▲field lectures at Ungok Ramsar Wetlands ▲understanding biosphere reserves ▲speech training, among others.
In particular, experts in related fields such as UNESCO biosphere reserves and ecotourism will be invited to provide high-quality classes to help convey the Gochang UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in an engaging way.
The recruitment target is anyone interested in becoming a Gochang Biosphere Reserve storyteller.
Details on how to apply for the training course and other specifics can be found in the announcements section of the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation website, and all courses are free of charge.
After completing the training course, graduates will actively work as Gochang Biosphere Storytellers by participating in promotional activities during Gochang tourism tours and local and external tourism events.
An Jong-seon, Executive Director of the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, “This training course will be an opportunity to broaden the base of understanding about the Gochang Biosphere Reserve,” adding, “We hope to guide tourists easily and enjoyably through the seven treasures of world heritage, including the biosphere reserve.”
The Gochang Biosphere Storyteller Training Course is hosted by Gochang County and operated by the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, supported by the Korea National Park Service and the UNESCO MAB Korea Committee as part of the ‘2024 Biosphere Reserve Operation Activation Public Project.’
