Recruiting 150 Lunch Assistants and 50 Cleaning Assistants by July 10... Up to 110,000 KRW Monthly Activity Allowance, Highest Level Among Autonomous Districts -
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will implement the Dongjak-style Senior Center Lunch and Cleaning Helper Project to revitalize the operation of senior centers and expand social participation opportunities for the elderly.
The 'Dongjak-style Senior Center Lunch and Cleaning Helper Project' is being promoted with an investment of over 600 million KRW from the district budget to expand the number of helpers by relaxing the eligibility criteria and increasing allowances, aiming to ensure stable lunch provision and smooth operation within senior centers.
In particular, to address the limitations of the existing participation jobs that only allowed recipients of the basic pension aged 65 or older to apply, anyone aged 60 or older residing in Dongjak-gu can now participate.
Additionally, to improve the treatment of lunch helpers who face high work intensity such as food preparation, cleanup, and frequent complaints, an additional activity allowance of up to 110,000 KRW per month will be provided, which is the largest scale among autonomous districts in Seoul.
The district plans to recruit 150 lunch helpers and 50 cleaning helpers from the 27th of this month to July 10th, and allocate personnel mainly to senior centers that lack or have no helpers.
Residents who wish to participate can apply by visiting the Dongjak Employment Support Center (Noryangjin 140) or the Dongjak-gu branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association (Yeouidaebang-ro 24ga-gil 2) with a resident registration certificate from the 27th of this month to the 10th of next month.
After document and interview screening, the finally selected lunch and cleaning helpers will be assigned to senior centers in the district until December, working 3 hours a day, 10 times a month.
Cleaning helpers will receive a basic activity allowance of 290,000 KRW, while lunch helpers can receive up to 400,000 KRW, including the basic activity allowance plus an additional monthly allowance of up to 110,000 KRW.
Furthermore, the district will conduct a survey on the current status of meal participants and collect opinions from senior centers in the area to prepare improvement plans for the project and utilize them for appropriate personnel management.
