On the 24th, a post criticizing the hygiene condition of an Air Premia passenger plane was uploaded to the Naver traveler cafe 'Taesarang.' Passenger A shared photos taken inside the Air Premia (YP602 flight) aircraft that departed from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport on the 22nd and arrived at Incheon International Airport on the morning of the 23rd. In the photos, all the air conditioner vents were covered with thick black dust. It is presumed that the dust accumulated from particles blown out mixed with the airflow.
A said, "There is no explanation other than that the overall ventilation system is not being managed," and pointed out, "Making passengers breathe such air in a confined space is a criminal act."
Airplane vents play a role in expelling carbon dioxide exhaled by passengers and introducing outside air into the cabin to help circulate the cabin air. The airflow from the vents greatly reduces the possibility of passengers coming into contact with microorganisms that can cause illness. However, this situation is interpreted in the opposite way. Due to improper filter management, the vents have become a source of viruses, potentially adversely affecting passenger health.
In response to the controversy, the airline completed a deep cleaning of the aircraft scheduled for the 30th ahead of time on the previous day and stated that it will maintain the air conditioner vents in optimal condition.
