Appointment of 20 Monitor Members and Capacity Building Training
On the 24th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the inauguration ceremony and capacity-building training for the 1st Elderly-Friendly City Monitoring Group at the county office situation room.
Gurye-gun appointed 20 members to the Elderly-Friendly City Monitoring Group through open recruitment and recommendations from towns and townships to reflect opinions by generation and sector.
The Elderly-Friendly City Monitoring Group will be responsible for roles over the next two years, including ▲ recognizing and collecting opinions on various social issues due to aging ▲ supporting consensus building and promotional activities to spread elderly-friendly local culture ▲ monitoring the progress of elderly-friendly city creation projects.
Following the inauguration ceremony, Lee Hun-hee, president of the Korea Policy Management Institute, served as the instructor and conducted capacity-building training on the necessity and understanding of creating an elderly-friendly city in Gurye-gun and the direction of the monitoring group’s activities.
County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “We hope for the active activities and participation of the monitoring group to create a Gurye-type elderly-friendly city where all generations, including the elderly, coexist happily.”
