Exploring Directions for R&D in Future Promising Technologies and Advanced Strategic Industries
Discussion on Fostering Specialized Secondary Battery Industry for Space and Aviation in Busan
Busan Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Planning (BISTEP, President Seo Yongcheol) will hold the '2024 1st Busan Future Technology Innovation Forum' on July 1 at the Emerald Hall of Hotel Nongshim.
The 'Busan Future Technology Innovation Forum' is held more than three times a year starting this year to derive mid- to long-term research and development (R&D) planning directions for fostering Busan's future promising technologies and advanced strategic industries, as well as to expand networking.
The first forum, under the theme 'New Space Era, Super-Gap Technological Innovation in Secondary Batteries,' will feature keynote presentations and a panel discussion targeting experts in the fields of secondary batteries and aerospace from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
The keynote presentations include: ▲ 'Trends in Secondary Battery Technology and Applications in Aerospace' by Lee Jeongdu, Secondary Battery PD at Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KEIT); ▲ 'Trends in the Development of Small Satellites in the Busan Region and Implications for Battery Applications' by Lee Jeonggyu, Head of Division at Nara Space.
The subsequent panel discussion, under the theme 'New Space Era, Technological Innovation in Secondary Batteries in Busan,' will feature Park Junwoo, Principal Researcher at Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute; Kim Jinsu, Senior Researcher at Korea Institute of Energy Research; and Park Minjun, Professor at Pusan National University, participating as researchers from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
Seo Yongcheol, President of Busan Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Planning (BISTEP), stated, "For Busan to leap forward as a global hub city, it must foster advanced industries," and added, "To nurture secondary batteries as Busan's future new industry, it is necessary to pursue super-gap, differentiated R&D and maintain continuous cooperation and connection among innovation entities in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam."
