On the afternoon of the 24th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency held a fund transfer ceremony for the Hope Sprout Integrated Support Group to protect and support socially vulnerable groups related to local community crimes at the Mudeung Hall of the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, attended by the KT&G Jeonnam Headquarters Director and related officials.
The Gwangju Police operate the 'Hope Sprout Integrated Support Group,' composed of four divisions (Policy & Operation, Counseling Support, Sharing, Hope), collaborating with a total of 69 local community institutions and organizations to ensure a safe Gwangju free from crime and full recovery of daily life from crime damage.
The 'Hope Sprout Integrated Support Group' actively identifies and supports socially vulnerable crime victims in blind spots by holding customized case meetings regularly together with the Gwangju Autonomous Police Committee, Gwangju City Hall Integrated Care, 2Neighbors, and others.
This year, through the 'Hope Sprout Integrated Support Group,' the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency has provided support worth approximately 49 million KRW in economic, psychological, and medical assistance to a total of 59 victims, including those of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence.
Han Chang-hoon, Chief of the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, said, "I am grateful for your continued interest and active cooperation in strengthening protection and support capabilities this year as well as last year to create a safe Gwangju where peace becomes everyday life." He added, "Going forward, the 'Hope Sprout Integrated Support Group' will strive to become a core victim protection and support system in the Gwangju area by operating the Hope Sprout AI Care Center utilizing AI artificial intelligence counseling technology and managing a comprehensive support system for property crime victims."
