The KOSPI closed at the 2770 level, driven by purchases from foreigners and institutions. Most of the top market capitalization stocks ended flat.
On the 25th, the KOSPI closed at 2774.39, up 9.66 points (0.35%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals sold a net 302.2 billion KRW. In contrast, foreigners and institutions bought a net 145.9 billion KRW and 164.2 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, transportation and warehousing rose 2.45%. Securities also increased by 2.08%. Additionally, transportation equipment and insurance sectors rose more than 1%. Conversely, the electric and gas utilities sector fell 1.92%, and medical precision equipment declined 1.09%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 80,800 KRW, up 200 KRW (0.25%) from the previous trading day. SK Hynix rose 0.90%. Hyundai Motor increased 2.67%, and Kia rose 0.55%. On the other hand, Samsung SDI fell 2.38%. LG Chem and Shinhan Financial Group also closed down more than 1%.
On this day, 497 KOSPI stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit, while 375 stocks declined without any hitting the lower limit. Sixty stocks ended flat.
The KOSDAQ closed at 841.99, up 0.47 points (0.06%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, institutions sold a net 89.2 billion KRW. Meanwhile, individuals and foreigners bought a net 51.7 billion KRW and 81.2 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, the internet sector rose 2.05%. Transportation equipment and parts, pharmaceuticals, and information devices also rose more than 1%. Conversely, the chemical sector fell 2.12%. Additionally, textiles and apparel declined 1.45%, and distribution fell 1.02%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 179,300 KRW, down 2,800 KRW (1.54%) from the previous trading day. Enchem fell 5.93%, and Silicon Two declined 4.62%. In contrast, HLB surged 10.3%. HPSP also closed up 3.24%.
On the KOSDAQ, two stocks, Hanjung NS and Life Semantics, hit the upper limit, with 823 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 731 stocks declined without any hitting the lower limit, and 101 stocks ended flat.
