S-OIL Delivers Seafood Packages to Senior Centers in Onsan Area

Purchase of Seafood Produced in the Onsan Area Delivered to Local Vulnerable Groups

On June 25, S-OIL Ulsan Plant delivered seafood packages to senior welfare facilities in the Onsan area at the Onsan Nonghyup. The event was attended by Shin Mooncheol, head of Onsan Nonghyup; Oh Hyungchul, team leader at S-OIL; Yang Hoyoung, secretary-general of the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea; Kim Gukjin, president of the Onsan Senior Citizens' Association; Kim Jaecheon, head of the Gangyang Fishing Village Cooperative; and others.

On the 25th, S-OIL Ulsan Plant delivered seafood packages including rock seaweed and kelp produced in the Onsan area to senior welfare facilities in Onsan, with officials from Onsan Nonghyup and Gangyang Fishery Cooperative attending.

Since 2023, S-OIL has provided annual support of 30 million KRW, purchasing seasonal seafood such as stone seaweed, kelp, and anchovies produced in the Onsan area through Onsan Nonghyup. These seafood packages are then delivered to local senior welfare facilities two to three times a year.

The seafood package delivery ceremony was held together with an event where the Onsan Nonghyup Rural Love Women's Volunteer Group, using the 30 million KRW donated by S-OIL since 2021, prepares agricultural and seafood packages and delivers them every other month to vulnerable groups in the region.

By purchasing locally produced agricultural and seafood products and delivering them to those in need, S-OIL not only supports the improvement of dietary habits and healthy aging for vulnerable groups but is also expected to contribute to increasing the income of local residents by helping local farmers and fishers secure stable sales channels.

An S-OIL representative who attended the event said, "S-OIL continues to carry out various social contribution activities to coexist with the Onsan area where our plant is located. We hope that our small gesture can help those facing difficulties, even if just a little."

Shin Mooncheol, head of Onsan Nonghyup, expressed, "We deeply appreciate S-OIL's warm support. We hope that this support of agricultural and seafood packages will provide some strength to welfare-vulnerable groups and senior centers during the hot summer."
