Mayor I Gwonjae: "Extensive Efforts to Expand Transportation Welfare"
The establishment of a new metropolitan bus route to downtown Seoul, one of the long-awaited projects in Osan City, Gyeonggi Province, has been confirmed.
According to Osan City on the 25th, the Metropolitan Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MTMC) announced the confirmation of a new metropolitan bus route between Osan and Seoul Station during the route selection review committee meeting held that morning. On the same day, the MTMC announced the establishment and conversion of 10 routes, including the Osan?Seoul Station route.

The new route establishment has been a key task pursued by Mayor Lee Gwon-jae since the launch of Osan City's 8th elected administration. Previously, Mayor Lee personally visited the Ministry of Land and the MTMC several times to explain and request the necessity of the route. Immediately after the route confirmation, Mayor Lee said, "Since this was one of the routes that citizens longed for, I am delighted and grateful as one of the people who promoted it on behalf of the citizens."
The newly established route starts from the Segyo District 21 Complex Happy Housing, passes through Segyo 1 and 2 Districts including Sema Station, and heads directly to Seoul via Buk Osan IC. After entering Seoul, the route passes through major downtown and Gangnam points such as Soonchunhyang University Hospital → Namdaemun Tax Office → Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station → Sungnyemun → Seoul Station → Namdaemun Market → Armed Forces Financial Management Corps → Seoul Express Bus Terminal, before returning to Osan.
Six vehicles will be deployed on the route, operating 24 times a day. The dispatch interval is 30 to 60 minutes. The route will begin operation in the second half of this year after administrative procedures such as MTMC route bidding.
Meanwhile, to respond to the population increase due to the settlement in Segyo 2 District, the city has been promoting the reorganization of city bus routes 7-5, 202, and 30, as well as the establishment of city bus route 60 and village bus route 33-3.
Mayor Lee stated, "In the future, we will promote various policies to expand transportation welfare not only in Segyo New Town but also in Osan's original downtown, Unam District, and Dong Osan apartment areas."
