Gyeonggi Province held the 74th anniversary ceremony of the Korean War on the 25th at the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency in Suwon.
Gyeonggi Province held the 74th anniversary event of the June 25th War on the 25th at 10 a.m. in the Gyeonggi Hall on the 3rd floor of the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science Promotion located in Suwon Yeongtong Gwanggyo Technovalley, under the slogan "For This Land, This Sea, This Sky."
About 400 people attended the ceremony, including veterans and bereaved families of the June 25th War, members of veterans' organizations, military commanders, and heads of related institutions and organizations.
The ceremony, which began with a pre-ceremony performance by the Marine Corps Headquarters Military Band, proceeded in the following order: ▲Entrance of flags of UN participating countries ▲National ceremony ▲Moment of silence for the patriotic martyrs, national heroes, and UN war veterans who sacrificed their lives, followed by screening of a June 25th War video ▲Commemorative speech ▲Performance by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Choir ▲Singing of the June 25th War song.
Oh Hu-seok, the 2nd Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized in his commemorative speech, "We must strengthen our diplomatic and security capabilities to resolve the relentless provocations from North Korea," adding, "Gyeonggi Province will do its utmost to ensure that residents can live in peace. We will also pay closer attention to honoring the dignity of the June 25th War veterans and their bereaved families who devoted themselves to the country."
