Secured 12.2 Billion KRW for 'Delicious Cooperation of Jindo, Healthy Samhap of K Food' Project

Jindo County, Jeonnam Province, and National Assembly Member... Honored with Selection through Organic Cooperation

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been finally selected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Public-Private Partnership Regional Win-Win Agreement Project’ contest with the theme “Delicious Cooperation of Jindo, Healthy Samhap of K Food.”

According to the county on the 25th, the ‘Public-Private Partnership Regional Win-Win Agreement Project’ is a project where private companies and organizations with expertise take the lead in planning region-tailored projects with local governments, and the government and local governments sign regional development investment agreements to support necessary customized projects.

Through this contest project, nine cities and counties nationwide, including Jindo-gun, were selected, and each city and county will receive 5 billion KRW in national funding over three years.

The healthy Samhap proposed by Jindo-gun means △establishing a healthy distribution and logistics infrastructure for agricultural and marine products in Jindo-gun △producing healthy food by farmers and fishermen △connecting healthy consumption through private companies.

Until now, Jindo-gun has suffered from a lack of distribution and logistics facilities, which increased the economic burden on farmers and fishermen due to outsourcing to external logistics companies.

To resolve these issues, Jindo-gun was selected for the contest project after six months of thorough preparation through cooperation with private companies, Jeollanam-do, the office of National Assembly member Park Ji-won, and other related institutions.

In particular, the special interest of National Assembly member Park Ji-won, who is from Jindo, and close communication with central government ministries became the driving force to solve local issues and secure future food business.

Through this project, the county plans to secure a total project cost of 12.2 billion KRW, including 5 billion KRW in national funding, to establish excellent distribution and logistics infrastructure for Jindo’s agricultural and marine specialty products and to promote a digital logistics system project for the stable supply of these products.

Private companies ‘Smart Alteul Jangteo’ and ‘Mr. Appa’ plan to cooperate by upgrading the sorting center and MFC (Micro Fulfillment System) to build an O4O (Online for Offline) system so that Jindo food products can be supplied and sold to various sales channels and consumers.

In addition, along with the Public-Private Partnership Regional Win-Win Agreement Project, it is expected to contribute to increasing the resident population through the linkage of the Jindo Seomang Port Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project and the Jindo-gun Rural New Vitality Plus Project based on the logistics industry infrastructure, regional economy, culture, and tourism.

County Governor Kim Hee-su said, “We will establish a comprehensive plan to stabilize farmers’ income and build a sustainable food industry system,” adding, “We will create a win-win path that makes life and work enjoyable through Jindo’s unique delicious cooperation.”

Meanwhile, Jindo-gun has secured 35 billion KRW for this year’s Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project, 20 billion KRW for the Jeonnam-type 10,000 KRW Housing Construction Project, and a total of 96.4 billion KRW in contest project funds for 30 projects, showing remarkable results along with last year’s record-high 70 projects and 135.8 billion KRW in contest project funds.
