LG Electronics Unveils Hotel TV Featuring 'Google Cast' Integration

Participation in 'Hi-Tech 2024'
Sequential Launch Starting in North America Within the Year

LG Electronics has unveiled a hotel TV equipped with Google's wireless sharing technology, 'Google Cast'.

LG Electronics announced on the 25th that it participated in the hospitality industry exhibition 'HITEC 2024' held in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, until the 27th, showcasing various hospitality solutions including hotel TVs, management software, signage, and robots.

Following the release of hotel TVs with Apple's wireless sharing technology AirPlay earlier this year, LG Electronics has now introduced hotel TVs for Android device users.

Hotel guests can scan the QR code displayed on the in-room TV screen using IT devices with Android 6 or higher, or iOS 14 or higher, which connects directly to the TV, allowing them to continue enjoying content from their personal devices on the large hotel TV screen.

This feature also offers significant security advantages. Customers do not need to enter their ID and password into the OTT apps on the hotel TV, and connection history is automatically deleted upon checkout.

In addition to hotel TVs equipped with Google Cast technology, LG Electronics exhibited ▲ 'LG ProCentric Stay', a room TV management platform for short-term lodging providers such as Airbnb ▲ the 118-inch micro LED 'LG Magnite', which delivers an overwhelming viewing experience even in suites ▲ 55-inch transparent OLED signage ▲ CLOi robots ▲ and electric vehicle charging solutions.

LG Electronics plans to sequentially launch hotel TVs equipped with Google Cast starting in the North American market within this year. North America is the largest hospitality market, concentrated with high-end chain hotels that are sensitive to trends. According to market research firm Omdia, LG Electronics holds the number one market share in the North American hotel TV market.
