Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min has ordered the mobilization of all available resources to search for the missing fishing vessel in the waters off Jeju.
On the 25th, Minister Lee gave an urgent directive, stating, "Jeju City, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Korea Coast Guard, and other related agencies must mobilize all available resources to fully commit to the search and rescue of the fishing vessel, and pay special attention to the safety of rescue personnel during the search and rescue operations."
According to the Jeju Regional Coast Guard, at around 11:16 PM the previous day, the location signal of the 46-ton Jin-do registered trap fishing vessel '2016 Sinae Sanho' was lost approximately 110 km west of Chagwido, Jeju.
The registered crew on the system includes a total of 12 people: 7 Koreans and 5 foreigners.
The Coast Guard is conducting search operations, presuming that the 2016 Sinae Sanho has sunk.
