Busan Transportation Corporation Launches 'Proactive Administration' for Citizens to Experience

First In-house Lawyer Appointed as Active Administration Legal Protection Officer at Urban Railway Agency

Online Voting for Selection of Outstanding Active Administration Projects ... Increased Citizen Participation

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) is implementing practical proactive administration that citizens can truly experience, based on a solid system of institutional support.

To spread the culture of proactive administration, the corporation has appointed an in-house lawyer as a "Proactive Administration Legal Protection Officer" for the first time among urban railway organizations, in addition to the existing "Proactive Administration Exemption Protection Officer."

Through this, when legal disputes arise during the course of duty, employees can receive professional and prompt legal advice, enabling them to perform their work more actively.

Employees of the corporation can carry out flexible and creative tasks for citizens without being intimidated by potential civil or criminal liabilities related to their work.

In addition, a new citizen voting stage has been introduced for selecting outstanding proactive administration projects, allowing citizens to vote directly for creative and challenging projects that they have experienced and benefited from. Incentives are awarded to employees selected for outstanding proactive administration, further promoting a culture of proactive practice within the corporation.

The corporation is implementing the "2024 Proactive Administration Action Plan," which consists of five major strategies and fifteen action tasks, including: ▲ strict measures against passive administration ▲ diversification of proactive administration online and offline promotional channels ▲ operation of a proactive administration citizen network. The 7th of every month has been designated as "Proactive Administration Day," with various activities such as employee slogan contests to foster company-wide proactive administration.

Last year, Busan Transportation Corporation opened its underground parking lot near Dadaepo Beach Station, which had long suffered from chronic parking shortages and illegal parking, to the public. For these efforts to improve the convenience of local residents, the corporation received the Busan City Proactive Administration Merit Award for three consecutive years.

This year, the corporation plans to create a carbon garden in a 200-square-meter old outdoor space at Oncheonjang Station for citizens to relax, and to launch the "Urban Railway One-Day Citizen Academy," a hands-on train and station experience course to realize customer experience (CX) management, aiming to garner positive responses from citizens.

President Lee Byungjin of Busan Transportation Corporation said, "For employees who contribute to improving the quality of life that citizens can truly feel through proactive administration, we will provide clear rewards for their achievements as well as reduce the burden of lawsuits or audit issues," and added, "We will strive to implement practical proactive administration that citizens can experience through flexible and creative work approaches."
