Support for Funeral and Bereaved Families of the Deceased Underway
On the 24th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province established a 'Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' to support the funerals of the deceased and their bereaved families following the battery factory fire in Jeongok-ri, Seosin-myeon, within the Jeongok Marine General Industrial Complex.

The Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, led by Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, is composed of 13 teams including the Situation Management Team, Funeral Support Team, and Bereaved Family Support Team, and will operate until the accident recovery is completed.
The city will first support the funeral procedures for the deceased, who are dispersed across five funeral homes located in Hwaseong. Considering that a significant number of the deceased are foreigners, interpreters will be assigned, and a person in charge will be designated for each deceased to assist the bereaved families.
Additionally, the city plans to continuously provide information to citizens living or working nearby by monitoring air quality and other factors in real time due to the fire, to prevent secondary damage.
Separately from the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, the city has established an Integrated Support Center for Victims on the 5th floor conference room of City Hall to coordinate with related organizations such as the fire station, police station, and Foreigners Support Center.
Mayor Jeong said, "Above all, we will do our utmost to support the funerals to soothe the pain of the bereaved families," adding, "We will mobilize all city resources and do our best until the accident recovery is completed."
