Kosdaq-listed company Dabolink has nominated Lee Gi-wook, a former KT executive and advisor at KT Service, and Kim Yoo-jin, head of overseas investment attraction at Vertis, as internal director candidates.

Dabolink is an information and communication device manufacturer that develops wired and wireless network equipment based on wireless LAN technology and supplies them to leading domestic telecommunications companies, enterprises, and public institutions.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 24th, Dabolink has nominated Lee Gi-wook, advisor at KT Service, and Kim Yoo-jin, head of overseas investment attraction at Vertis, as new director candidates. Dabolink plans to appoint advisor Lee as the new CEO after the agenda passes at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for July 8.

Lee Gi-wook, the prospective new CEO, is a telecommunications market expert with 25 years of extensive experience and successful achievements at KT after graduating from Korea University with a degree in Political Science and Diplomacy and earning a master's degree in Telecommunication Management from the KAIST Graduate School of Techno Management.

He is known to have experience in various businesses ranging from wired and wireless communications to ICT and telecommunications maintenance, energy business units, and smart factory sectors, demonstrating outstanding performance in building and validating models based on the essence and strengths of the business.

From 2017 to 2019, Lee led the energy business unit at KT's Future Office, overseeing the energy efficiency platform, trading, and fuel cell business within the production area. During this period, KT's energy business unit ranked first in the electric vehicle charging market, was a leading player in energy storage systems (ESS) and solar power, ranked second in demand response (DR), and grew to a scale of 300 billion KRW within three years.

In 2020, he was responsible for KT's corporate smart factory business, planning factory innovation based on 5G, manufacturing, and in-factory robot businesses. He also handled B2B product innovation as BDO and managed KT Enterprise brand-related tasks and demonstration projects.

Kim Yoo-jin, head of overseas investment attraction at Vertis, holds a master's degree from Cornell University and a doctorate from the University of Tokyo. She has built her career as an investment attraction and overseas business development director at bio-healthcare venture companies such as BioInfra, Vertis, and Exogen. She is an expert in discovering new businesses and investment opportunities by leveraging a global network spread across the United States, China, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

A Dabolink official stated, “Director candidate Lee Gi-wook possesses expertise not only in telecommunications but also in energy and smart factory sectors based on 25 years of experience and knowledge accumulated at KT, which will enable groundbreaking revenue growth for Dabolink's existing businesses and further strengthen competitiveness in the market.” He added, “Candidate Kim Yoo-jin will leverage her extensive global human network to expand overseas business and attract large-scale investments.”
