Sister City Agreement Signed at Busanjin-gu Office on the 21st... Commitment to Joint Development of Both Cities
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) and Busanjin-gu, Busan Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Young-wook) signed a sisterhood agreement on the 21st, agreeing to work together for the mutual development of Yeongnam and Honam regions.
According to the city, the signing ceremony held at the Busanjin-gu Office in the afternoon was attended by Jeong Gi-myeong, Mayor of Yeosu, Kim Young-wook, District Mayor of Busanjin-gu, Kim Young-gyu, Chairman of Yeosu City Council, Park Hyun-chul, Chairman of Busanjin-gu Council, Park Soo-kwan, Co-chairman of the Island Expo Organizing Committee, and officials from both local governments.

The agreement includes ▲ cooperation to revitalize culture, tourism, sports, and economic sectors in both regions ▲ sharing of excellent policy projects and exchange of administrative information ▲ support in case of disasters and emergencies.
Yeosu City is actively establishing sisterhood ties with domestic and international cities to promote mutual growth in administration, economy, culture, and other fields. In particular, ahead of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo, it is expected that cooperation and support from sister cities will strengthen the successful hosting of the event.
On this day, Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong said, “Through this sisterhood agreement, we expect the two local governments to communicate more actively and create greater synergy,” adding, “We hope Busanjin-gu will be a reliable partner for the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo.”
