Dongmyung University Hosts High School Summer School 'K-Pop Music Producer Course'... Applications Accepted Until the 28th

Department of Entertainment and Arts and "Computer Composition Experience Tour"

Tongmyong University welcomes high school students with a unique summer vacation experience program, the 'Summer School K-Pop Music Producer Course'.

The Department of Entertainment Arts at Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan, Dean Lee Wooyoung) will offer the 'K-Pop Music Producer' course for five days starting July 23, as part of the 2024 High School Summer School program recently selected by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education.

The High School Summer School is a program where high schools and universities collaborate to provide various educational courses, offering high school students in Busan the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiential learning activities that are difficult to conduct during regular classes.

The K-Pop Music Producer course aims to help students become K-Pop music producers in just one week, teaching them how to utilize various generative AI technologies. The course also provides career exploration opportunities in content industries such as K-Pop, film, drama, video advertising, games, and web music (digital music) content.

Applications for this course will be accepted until the 28th, and the course will be held from July 23 to 27 for a total of 20 hours (4 hours per day) at the Do-ing Hall Entertainment Practice Room. The course will be led by Professor Lee Kyuman, an adjunct professor at the Department of Entertainment Arts at Tongmyong University and a music producer.

Professor Lee Wooyoung, Dean of the Department of Entertainment Arts at Tongmyong University, said, "Professor Lee Kyuman is a top expert in this field, specializing in digital music production, popular music and genres, and introductory computer (MIDI) music. This will be an easy and enjoyable learning experience for high school students," adding, "The future of the K-Entertainment field, including K-Pop, is expected to be fully integrated with digital worldviews such as artificial intelligence. We plan to approach students with beneficial content that reflects these trends."

The Department of Entertainment Arts at Tongmyong University, which fosters Do-ing talents who challenge, experience, and practice, is the only department in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region specializing in one-person media creators and digital music producers. The newly reorganized Department of Entertainment Arts for the 2025 academic year will offer broader career exploration opportunities, including digital content culture technology (CT) and arts engineering (AT) integrated with artificial intelligence technology.
