Yoon Sang-hyun "Party Leader Must Have Deep Trust with Yoon... I Am the Right Person"

"Bravely Speaking Out on the 'Capital Region Crisis Theory' Despite Nomination Threats"
"Han Dong-hoon, Na Kyung-won, Won Hee-ryong, Join the Presidential Primary"

Yoon Sang-hyun, a presidential candidate of the People Power Party, said on the 23rd, "To become a winning party, the party must not be divided, and there must be no conflict between the president and the party."

Through Facebook on the same day, Rep. Yoon stated, "This party convention is to restore the winning DNA our party has lost, lead the victory in the 2026 local elections, and elect a party leader who will lay the foundation for regime re-creation in the 2027 presidential election." He added, "The Yeongnam region and the metropolitan area must not fight, and members of the National Assembly and out-of-office party district committee chairs must not be at odds."

He said, "This party leader must be someone who fights and wins against the Democratic Party, and must be a leader who speaks frankly to the president so that public sentiment becomes Yoon-sim (President Yoon's intention)." He added, "This party leader must have deep trust with the president. Only then can public sentiment and party sentiment be conveyed without misunderstanding." This is interpreted as a remark targeting former Emergency Response Committee member Han Dong-hoon, who had conflicts with President Yoon Seok-yeol during the general election period.

He then emphasized that he is the right candidate for party leader. Rep. Yoon said, "This party leader should be someone who has grown continuously within our party and has experienced the joy of victory and the pain of defeat together with party members." He highlighted his political career by asking, "Who courageously spoke about the metropolitan area crisis theory even in the face of nomination threats? Who boldly voiced that 'subtractive politics' is unacceptable just because of differing opinions? Who fought and won against the Democratic Party five times on the metropolitan frontline?"

He added, "Yoon Sang-hyun is the leader the Democratic Party fears the most. If 'Underdog' Yoon Sang-hyun wins, it will be the most surprising news."

He also addressed fellow presidential candidates former committee member Han, former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong, and Rep. Na Kyung-won, saying, "Participating in the presidential primary election together with Hong Joon-pyo, Oh Se-hoon, Ahn Cheol-soo, and Yoo Seung-min (rather than the party leadership election) would be good for the party and for themselves."
