Support for SME Business Transformation
Driving Industrial Structure Advancement
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 23rd that it held the 'New Business Entry KOSME IR Mart' to support private investment attraction for promising small and medium venture companies.
Held on the 21st at Tipstown in Seoul, this event was promoted to support the scale-up of promising companies participating in SBC's business transformation support project, which are growing through new business entry.
Since 2007, SBC has been implementing the business transformation support project, providing policy funds worth 312.5 billion KRW annually, along with consulting, research and development, preferential guarantees, and linked tax reduction support. Additionally, from this year, SBC has expanded the scope of business transformation support in accordance with the revision of the Business Transformation Act and is focusing on supporting new business sectors to strengthen the competitiveness of business transformation companies.
The IR Mart on this day was attended by about 40 stakeholders, including Kim Moon-hwan, Director of Corporate Finance at SBC, six venture capital (VC) investment expert judges, and six representatives of participating companies.
In particular, this IR Mart invited private investors such as VCs interested in the participating companies as on-site spectators, in addition to the VC judges, to increase the possibility of investment attraction and the participation rate of private investors. After the individual IR pitching by a total of six participating companies, a one-on-one consultation session between participating companies and VC judges was arranged, providing a networking time for free communication such as Q&A and feedback for investment attraction.
Kim Moon-hwan, Director of Corporate Finance at SBC, said, “Through this IR Mart, we hope to raise the interest of the private investment industry in small and medium venture companies that have successfully entered new businesses proactively during the industrial structure transformation period,” and added, “Going forward, SBC will actively support the business transformation of small and medium venture companies in line with the rapidly changing economic environment to lead the advancement of the industrial structure.”
