Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 'Environmental Special Lecture' for Residents

On the 22nd at 2 p.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended an 'Environmental Special Lecture' held at the Nowon-gu Citizens' Hall in Seoul.

This environmental special lecture was organized to raise awareness among residents about the seriousness of the global climate crisis, encourage interest in the environment, and spread the will to practice carbon neutrality.

First, as the first lecture of the environmental special lecture, Lee Jeong-mo, former director of the National Gwacheon Science Museum, gave a lecture on the topic of 'Climate Crisis and Carbon Neutrality.' The second lecture was delivered by broadcaster Julian Quintart, who introduced various ways to practice carbon neutrality in daily life through veganism (vegetarianism) and zero waste (recycling) under the theme of 'Vegan, Zero Waste Carbon Neutral Practice.'

After the lectures, a Q&A session was held, providing an opportunity to easily explain the somewhat heavy topics of 'carbon neutrality' and 'climate crisis.'

To realize the 2050 carbon-neutral city of Nowon, the 'Nowon-gu Carbon Neutral Support Center' was also opened and has been operating since last April.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “We organized this special lecture to think together with residents about solving environmental problems,” and added, “We will continue to support residents in understanding the value of carbon neutrality well and in practicing it in their daily lives.”
