Daytime High Temperature Rises to 32 Degrees

The monsoon rain falling in the southern regions and Jeju Island will stop in the morning. Over the two days of the 22nd and 23rd, Jeju Island will receive 50 to 150 mm of rain (with more than 200 mm in some mid-mountain and mountainous areas), and Gwangju, Jeonnam, Busan, Ulsan, the southern coast of Gyeongnam, and areas near Jirisan will see 50 to 100 mm of rain (with more than 180 mm in some coastal and eastern inland areas of Jeonnam, and over 150 mm along the southern coast).


During the same period, expected rainfall amounts are 30 to 80 mm in Jeonbuk, Daegu, southern Gyeongbuk, and inland Gyeongnam (with more than 100 mm in eastern Jeonbuk), 10 to 60 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk, 10 to 40 mm in northern Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo, and 5 to 30 mm in Gangwon-do.


From late afternoon, rain will begin along the Incheon and Gyeonggi west coast and the northwestern Chungnam west coast, expanding at night to Seoul, inland Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous Gangwon, as well as other parts of Chungcheong and Jeolla regions. The rain will continue until the daytime of the following day.


Expected rainfall amounts for the 23rd to 24th are 5 to 20 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area and inland and mountainous Gangwon, around 5 mm in the Chungcheong region, and less than 5 mm in the Jeolla region. Morning low temperatures are forecast to be between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius. The minimum and maximum temperatures for major cities are Seoul (23°C / 30°C), Incheon (22°C / 26°C), Chuncheon (21°C / 31°C), Daejeon (23°C / 30°C), Gwangju (23°C / 30°C), Daegu (23°C / 41°C), Busan (23°C / 27°C), and Jeju (23°C / 28°C).


Fine dust levels will be 'Good' to 'Moderate' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and the effects of precipitation. Sea waves will be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea and West Sea nearshore waters, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the South Sea nearshore waters. Wave heights in the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline) are expected to be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea.
