Na Kyung-won Strengthens Local Support... "Respecting Party Members is the First Step to Regaining Power"

TK and Chungcheong Tour to Appeal for Party Member Support
"A Person Who Knows and Protects the Party Better Than Anyone
...A Tree with Weak Roots Cannot Withstand Trials"

Na Kyung-won, a member of the People Power Party challenging for the next party leadership, stated, "Respecting the party members and the public, who are the roots and foundation of our party, is the first step to rebuilding the conservative party and succeeding in regaining power."

On the 22nd, Na shared this thought on her Facebook, saying, "A tree with weak roots cannot withstand the season of trials." She added, "Following yesterday, I am meeting party members and the public nationwide today as well," and said, "Before announcing my candidacy, I wanted to greet the party members and the public first, and I believe that is a practice of respecting party members."

Following her meetings the previous day with Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, and Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, Na is attending party member council meetings in Chungju, Chungbuk, and North Gyeongsang on this day. This is interpreted as a move to appeal for support from party members while touring Daegu and North Gyeongsang (TK), the party's traditional stronghold, for the second consecutive day. In the People Power Party leadership election, party member votes account for 80% of the total.

Na conveyed, "Mayor Hong said, 'It is right that those who have protected the party within the party become the party leader,' and Governor Lee said, 'The party leader should be someone who knows the party well.'" She continued, "I believe that the person with rich experience, who knows the party better than anyone else, and who has steadfastly protected the party is, without a doubt, Na Kyung-won," and pledged, "I will humbly listen to the party members and the public about the image they desire for our party, the important tasks given to the next party leader, and both party sentiment and public opinion."

She introduced, "I have also named the election campaign 'Reclaiming Power Camp,'" emphasizing, "That much, we must be desperate and must win."
