On the 22nd, No Jong-eon, a lawyer from the law firm Jonjae, the legal representative of Sunwoo Eun-sook, stated, "On the 21st, Bundang Police Station recognized the charge of violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, etc. (forcible molestation within family relations) against Yoo Young-jae regarding Sunwoo Eun-sook's biological older sister and sent the case to the Seongnam Branch Prosecutor's Office." He added, "We earnestly ask to refrain from malicious slanderous posts or comments against the victim or her family, and we plan to take strict legal action against any such malicious slanderous posts or comments."
The investigation into this case began with a complaint filed by Sunwoo Eun-sook. The police, who conducted the investigation, reportedly judged that the charges were valid based on the recordings and other evidence submitted by Sunwoo Eun-sook's side.
Previously, Sunwoo Eun-sook and Yoo Young-jae legally became a married couple by registering their marriage in October 2022 but divorced after one year and six months in March of this year.
At that time, Sunwoo Eun-sook stated, "The decisive factor in deciding to divorce was Yoo Young-jae's charge of forcibly molesting my biological older sister five times starting in 2023," and added, "After learning belatedly about suspicions of a common-law marriage prior to Yoo Young-jae's first divorce, I filed a lawsuit to annul the marriage." She revealed that Yoo Young-jae had lived in a common-law relationship with a woman until two weeks before marrying her, and through media reports, she learned that it was not a 'remarriage' but a 'third marriage.'
However, Yoo Young-jae denied these allegations and announced a fierce legal battle. On the YouTube channel 'DJ Yoo Young-jae TV Yoo Young-jae Radio,' he said, "They framed me with a sexual assault accusation that is like an indelible punishment. If I die like this, the dirty sexual assault will be accepted as fact, so I have decided to fight legally." To respond to the annulment lawsuit, he hired the law firm Sejong and submitted a power of attorney to the Suwon Family Court Seongnam Branch last month. The lawyer in charge of the lawsuit at Sejong is a former judge. He has served as a judge at the Seoul Southern, Central, and Gwangju District Courts, a professor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, and a chief judge at the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Court. Since March 2021, he has been a partner lawyer at Sejong and head of the Inherited Asset Management Team.
