Heart Saver Team Provides Volunteer Education on First Aid for the Public
Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology (President Kim Youngdo) announced on the 21st that the Department of Emergency Medical Technology (Head Park Youngsoo) was recently selected for the ‘2024 Sotonggori University Student Volunteer Contest’.
This contest, hosted by the Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, is a program that supports volunteer activities such as discovering university student beneficiaries and talent donation. The 28 selected university student volunteer teams will be active for about six months, and depending on their results at the end of the year, awards such as the President of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Award and the Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters Director Award will be given.
The selected Heart Saver Team from Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology mainly focuses on providing emergency response education to the general public. They strive to impart the skills and knowledge needed to handle various emergency situations that may occur in daily life.
To this end, they educate people on how to respond to various situations such as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), stroke, myocardial infarction, and trauma, helping citizens develop the ability to save lives.
Hwang Haechang, the representative of the Heart Saver Team, said, “We aim to help people better understand the symptoms and signs of emergency diseases and respond quickly, and after our activities, we will hold regular meetings to ensure continuous growth and improvement.”
Park Youngsoo, Head of the Department of Emergency Medical Technology at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology, stated, “Through these efforts and activities, the Heart Saver Team is contributing to the safety and welfare of the local community,” and added, “We will make every effort to receive high evaluations in the Sotonggori Contest.”
