Musk "A Product That Will Change the World"
SpaceX, led by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has unveiled a portable satellite terminal called 'Starlink Mini,' CNBC reported on the 20th (local time).
According to the report, SpaceX sent emails to customers using its satellite internet service announcing a limited sale of the Starlink Mini. SpaceX explained, "Starlink Mini is a compact portable kit that easily fits into a backpack, designed to provide high-speed internet even while on the move."

This terminal, which communicates with Starlink's low Earth orbit satellites, weighs just over 2 pounds (0.9 kg), about the weight of a laptop, and measures 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height, 10 inches (25.4 cm) in width, and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in thickness. It is half the size of the standard Starlink antenna and weighs about one-third as much. SpaceX stated that the Starlink Mini has a built-in Wi-Fi router, consumes less power than other antennas, and boasts a download speed of 100 megabits per second.
The initial price for the terminal is set at $599 (approximately 830,000 KRW). It will be sold as a bundle product to customers already using the existing residential Starlink service. Earlier, on the 17th, CEO Musk tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), "It took less than 5 minutes to install Starlink Mini and write this post through space (satellite)," adding, "This product will change the world."
Since launching the low Earth orbit satellite communication service Starlink in 2020, SpaceX has steadily expanded related products. According to the company, about 6,000 Starlink satellites are currently orbiting, and approximately 3 million users in 100 countries are using the internet service. In March, there were signs that Starlink terminals were being massively exported to Russia through third-country black markets, prompting the company to take action against it.
