Dongdaemun-gu Supports Generation-Integrated Startups for Youth and Middle-Aged Adults Together

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) is recruiting participants for the ‘Generation-Integrated Successful Startup Support Project,’ which helps young adults and middle-aged individuals co-found businesses.

This project supports passionate and innovative young adults and middle-aged individuals with abundant skills, experience, and wisdom to join forces and achieve successful startups through customized startup education and consulting.

The project targets prospective entrepreneurs aged 19 to 65 who plan to start a business involving joint startups or mutual employment between young and middle-aged generations, and who either reside in Dongdaemun-gu or have their living area (workplace or school) within Dongdaemun-gu in the Seoul area.

Applicants undergo document screening to determine eligibility based on qualifications and business type, followed by a comprehensive evaluation of entrepreneurial intent and business execution capability. Up to 10 teams will be selected as final participants. The selected teams will receive startup education and business consulting support.

▲ Customized education for successful startups such as generation-integrated communication (total 4 days, 16 hours) ▲ 1:1 tailored consulting by startup professional consultants (at least 4 sessions per team) ▲ Information on government support projects (up to 100 million KRW) will help prospective entrepreneurs overcome difficulties they may face and present ways to successfully launch their businesses.

After completing the program, a team performance presentation will be held in October, where prizes will be awarded: Grand Prize (1 team) 1.5 million KRW, Excellence Prize (1 team) 1 million KRW, and Encouragement Prize (1 team) 500,000 KRW.

Residents wishing to participate can apply in person, by mail, or by email from June 24 to July 23. For more details, please refer to the Dongdaemun-gu website or contact the Youth Employment Division.

Ilpyeong Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “We expect the synergy effect created by ‘generation-integrated startup teams’ composed of young and middle-aged generations.” He added, “We will continue to discover and support quality job creation projects, including startups and employment.”
