The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced on the 20th (local time) that it will participate in the 2024 New York Food Expo held in Manhattan, New York from the 23rd to the 25th, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, to expand exports of Korean agricultural and food products in the U.S. market.
This Fancy Food Show, the largest food expo in the United States, will host about 50,000 food professionals and over 2,600 food-related companies from around the world. With 200,000 products exhibited, it will introduce future food trends and provide optimal business opportunities for buyers and participating companies.
aT plans to exhibit and consult on a variety of items from 51 companies, including health foods such as ginseng, various flavored healthy snacks, bulgogi sauce, doenjang and other sauces, and organic health teas. In particular, at the Korean Food Culture Promotion Pavilion, Chef Kim Hansong, who operates a Korean restaurant in New York, will showcase four Korean dishes using products from the expo participants.
Additionally, marketing and U.S. export certification consultations will be provided for domestic exporters participating in the expo for the first time.
As of the end of May this year, Korea's agricultural and food exports to the U.S. reached $610 million, an increase of 17.8% compared to the same period last year. Korea exported the largest volume of agricultural and food products to the U.S., surpassing China and Japan.
