Promotion of Exchanges Such as Medical Institution Collaboration, ESG Cooperation, and Industry Seminars
The Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center (Director Lee Jeong-hak) announced on the 19th that it signed a basic friendship and cooperation agreement with the Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone Commerce Bureau in Weihai City, China, on the 14th.

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to cooperate in areas such as logistics, trade and finance, and cultural tourism cooperation.
In addition, 42 representatives from Korean companies and institutions affiliated with the Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center visited the Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone. The inspection team visited the Weihai Incheon Pavilion and the Wisdom Valley Industrial Complex Exhibition Hall to observe the achievements in promoting Korea-China trade and practical cases of regional economic cooperation in China.
The Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center inspection team focused on checking the development status of the Weihai China-Korea Free Trade Zone regional industrial complex and China’s logistics advantages toward Korea. Subsequently, the two organizations held a joint academic conference to respond to the Korea-China climate change crisis and engaged in discussions and exchange activities.
Lee Jeong-hak, director of the Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center, stated, "Going forward, the Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center will promote exchanges and cooperation in economic, cultural, and industrial fields between China and Korea through activities such as enhancing connections and exchanges between medical institutions in China and Korea, cooperation on ESG (environment, society, corporate governance) between China and Korea, Korean studies, industrial seminars, and golf tournaments."
Liu Zhengbo, director of the Weihai Economic Development Zone Commerce Bureau, said, "Currently, the industrial complexes within the Economic Development Zone are continuously improving, and as the industrial structure is being optimized and advanced, we will continue to create high-quality services and first-class businesses. Through the signing of this MOU, the cooperative relationship with the Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center has become closer, and we will strive to enable more business organizations to invest in the Economic and Technological Development Zone."
Weihai City in China is a city that has comprehensively deepened openness and cooperation with Korea, becoming a model for exchange and cooperation in China. In particular, the Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone is an area where many Korean companies invest and reside. The annual trade volume with Korea exceeds 18 billion yuan.
