At the meeting, Mayor Jeong proposed a joint petition opposing the 'Tando Lake Floating Solar Power Installation Project' promoted by the Korea Rural Community Corporation. Mayor Jeong emphasized, "If floating solar power facilities are installed on Tando Lake located in the Siwha Lake area, there is a concern that the surrounding landscape will be damaged and water pollution may increase," adding, "This could lead to the degradation of the value of Siwha Lake’s ecological, cultural, and tourism resources."

After discussing the agenda, the three city mayors signed the 'Joint Petition Opposing the Installation of Floating Solar Power on Tando Lake' and plan to deliver it to the Korea Rural Community Corporation to request cooperation.

Mayor Jeong stated, "As local issues become increasingly complex and diverse, it is becoming difficult to respond with the capabilities of a single local government alone, so cooperation among local governments is being emphasized," and added, "We will do our best to re-examine the historical value of Siwha Lake, which is regarded as a model case of regional coexistence and development, and to spread it as a world-class exemplary case."

Meanwhile, Hwaseong City had previously conveyed its opposition to the floating solar power project on Tando Lake to the province during the site relay meeting of cities and counties related to the Gyeonggi Western SOC Grand Development Plan hosted by Gyeonggi Province in May.
