Over 50 Officials from Gijang County and County Council Participate
On the 19th, Gijang County in Busan held a promotional campaign at Gyori Samgeori in Gijang-eup to encourage the use of public transportation.
This event was organized as a joint promotional campaign with related organizations to advance Gijang as a public transportation-friendly city. The campaign was intensively carried out at intersections with heavy traffic to attract the attention of more county residents to public transportation use.
About 50 people participated in the event, including County Mayor Jung Jongbok, Gijang County staff, members of the Gijang County Council, officials from the Gijang Police Station, and representatives from the Model Drivers’ Association. They encouraged citizens passing through the intersection to use public transportation and conducted promotional activities to revitalize public transit.
Additionally, to promote compliance with traffic laws and raise safety awareness, the campaign also included publicity on the following: ▲ obeying traffic signals ▲ prioritizing pedestrians ▲ rules for using electric scooters ▲ safety guidelines for bicycle use.
Mayor Jung Jongbok stated, “I hope this campaign will help both county residents and citizens recognize the importance of public transportation,” and added, “Gijang County will take the lead in establishing a mature traffic culture through the promotion of public transportation use and traffic safety practices.”
