Hyundai Glovis Creates Urban Ecological Forest at Elementary School

Hyundai Glovis Creates Urban Ecological Forest at Elementary School

Hyundai Glovis announced on the 19th that it has created an ecological forest on unused land within Sangwon Elementary School in Seoul.

This ecological forest project was carried out as part of a social contribution activity in collaboration with the tree-planting social enterprise 'Tree Planet.' It is the first ecological forest. Native plants of Korea, including rare species designated by the Korea Forest Service, were planted in the school's spare space to create an urban school forest and raise awareness of biodiversity conservation and environmental protection.

The students of the school participated directly in the design competition and nurtured the forest together with the children based on the winning design. On a 50㎡ site, 1,225 native Korean plants, including rare species such as Misen tree, Jeju willow, and fan iris, were planted. In the second half of this year, a second ecological forest will be established near business sites in the metropolitan area and provinces.
