On the 19th, the Korea Meteorological Administration issued additional heatwave advisories for various inland areas including Seoul as of 10 a.m. The Seoul metropolitan area, except for Incheon, is currently under a heatwave advisory.
The heatwave advisory for Seoul was issued one day later than last year. A heatwave advisory is issued when the daily maximum perceived temperature is expected to be 33 degrees Celsius or higher for two or more consecutive days.
Currently, heatwave advisories have been issued for 92 meteorological special warning zones nationwide. Due to the influence of high pressure and warm westerly winds, temperatures have risen significantly compared to previous years. The daytime maximum temperature in most areas is exceeding 33 degrees Celsius.
