Goodwill Dental Hospital, Hansung Motors, Ensis, and Others Selected
The awards ceremony for the '2024 Busan Region Work-Learning Dual System Best Practices Competition,' hosted by the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, was successfully held at the Avani Central Busan Hotel.
This competition aimed to discover and share outstanding cases of companies and individuals who have been recognized for their learning and achievements in the field through the Work-Learning Dual System. Various companies and workers from the Busan region participated, adding further significance to the event.
The Work-Learning Dual System is a 'workplace-based training' program introduced in 2014, designed to suit the Korean context by adapting workplace-based learning models operated in countries such as Germany and Switzerland. Companies first hire workers, then provide apprenticeship-style on-the-job and off-the-job training based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) for at least one year, after which qualifications are granted through evaluation.
This Best Practices Competition was held for the first time in the Busan region. At the awards ceremony, companies and individuals who achieved outstanding results in three categories?learning companies, workplace instructors, and learning workers?were honored.
Outstanding cases from the top awardees in each category were also introduced during the ceremony.
By category, the winners were: ▲Goodwill Dental Hospital (Learning Company - Grand Prize) ▲Han Sung Motors Jin Yongju (Workplace Instructor - Grand Prize) ▲One Age V Kim Kyungmin (Workplace Instructor - Excellence Award) ▲Kyung Sung Industry (Workplace Instructor - Merit Award) ▲NCSYS Kim Kwansu (Learning Worker - Grand Prize) ▲BNK System Kim Dokyun (Learning Worker - Excellence Award) ▲Han Sung Motors Jang Jaehwan (Learning Worker - Merit Award).
Additionally, the competition was held alongside a meeting of the 'Workplace Learning Quality Management Group,' a consultative body for the expansion and quality improvement of corporate vocational training projects, where discussions on ways to further promote corporate vocational training also took place.
Shin Seungsik, Head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, stated, "Through this competition, we were able to discover and share exemplary cases of outstanding companies and workers in the Busan region. We will continue to do our best to create an environment where both companies and workers can grow together."
