The prosecution has demanded a 40-year prison sentence for a man in his 40s who instigated a person with an intellectual disability working as a parking attendant to commit murder.

On the 19th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Southern Prosecutors' Office) requested a 40-year prison sentence in the trial of Jo (45) on charges of instigating murder, held on the 14th before the 15th Criminal Division (Chief Judge Yang Hwan-seung).

In September 2022, Jo instructed a person with an intellectual disability working as a parking attendant in his building to kill Mr. A. It was investigated that Jo had conflicts with Mr. A over the Yeongdeungpo redevelopment issue.

Jo continued psychological control over the intellectually disabled person, who was wandering alone without family to care for him, by saying, "I am your father. I am saying this all for you." He then incited hostility toward Mr. A and ordered the murder.

Jo is also accused of embezzling the disability benefits and wages of the intellectually disabled parking attendant, who worked from July 2020 for three years and four months, under the pretext of lodging fees.
