Jongno-gu to Offer Free Issuance of 121 Types of Civil Documents at Unmanned Civil Service Kiosks Starting Next Month Jongno-gu Office Unmanned Civil Service Issuance Machine.

Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will waive fees for all unmanned civil service issuance machines installed within the district starting from the 1st of next month. Residents can use these unmanned civil service issuance machines to obtain 122 types of civil documents, including resident registration certificates and family relation registers, of which 52 types were previously subject to fees.

Jongno-gu had previously provided a 50% fee waiver for issuing resident registration abstract and family relation certificates from the machines. Furthermore, in May, the related ordinance was amended to decide on waiving fees for all civil services. However, according to court-related regulations, fees must still be paid for certified copies of the register.

As a result, starting next month, all documents except certified copies of the register can be issued free of charge from unmanned civil service issuance machines throughout the district. Jongno-gu currently operates a total of 21 unmanned civil service issuance machines installed in frequently visited multi-use locations such as the district office, community service centers, residents' halls, and subway stations. Additionally, within this month, an unmanned civil service issuance machine will be installed in the lobby on the first floor of the district office building to provide more convenience. This measure considers the expected increase in usage by residents and nearby office workers due to the fee waiver.

Jongno-gu stated, “The fee waiver for unmanned civil service issuance machines will provide convenience for residents and nearby office workers in issuing civil documents,” and added, “We will continue to pursue effective policies that improve administrative services that residents can feel in their daily lives and enhance satisfaction.”
